Where I'm From

Where I'm From

A Poem by ~Brooke Moran~

I am from my glasses view,
from Sally's Nail Polish,
and my Cover Girl make-up.
I am from the
 brown wooden front door.
I am from the tall tree in my front yard,
and the rose bush in front of my window.
I am from the turkey dinners at Karen's house on the holidays,
and the short women:
Mom, Grandma. and cousin Karen.
I am from the horsing around
and the teasing in my home.
From "suffer to be beautiful" and
"monkey's are my cousins".
I am from Christianity at
 Corner Stone Church.
I'm from Missouri,
The Wright Brothers,
Great Grandma's zucchini bread,
and roast dinners.
From the time Payton broke her arm,
the hospital waits,
and the crying through the nights.
I am from the box of memories.
The photos that always make me laugh.
