Last Night

Last Night

A Poem by hopeless
"

A little intoxication helps get you off of my mind

"

Last night,

the vodka chased my tears away

I didn't remember your name

Last night,

his lips tasted better then yours

and the thought of you

didn't drive me insane

Today,

I wanted to tell you

I loved you again

but I couldn't

Today,

I wasn't the girl

you wanted any-more

but you still drive me

insane.

-someone get me the vodka I had last night

I'm sorry that all my poems have something to do with me being intoxicated, ironically its the only thing that makes me feel ok again.

This is wonderful, I love how you're comparing yourself with the two different days, kind of like you're talking about two different people and it gives it a nice tone

I think most people can relate to how you feel, to a degree. I know I certainly can. This is brutally honest and real. I truly enjoyed it. Keep writing, drunk or not! Regards!

I'm old enough to have seen the results of friends that tried to escape through alcohol. Shot livers, legs that swell to a grotesque size, combative home life and other ugly things. Not to mention premature aging. I won't lie about it in order to assuage the impact of the subject. Your authors note is a little scary and the only reason why I mention this.

There's no need to apologize; this is an ugly truth that often times the only thing to make us feel better are the things that make us no longer feel. Love the brutal honesty of this poem and think you did a wonderful job.
