breaking bones

breaking bones

A Poem by lov

I don`t care.
You can break the glass
and tell yourself that
the sharp fragments feel soft under your skin.
The blood is all dried up
But your bones will remain broken.

You have to start talking to this wall,
brick by brick,
cut after cut.

Love the intensity and raw nature of your words. There is also a good rhythm and they sit well on the page.

your poetry is quite intense, lov.
I love the fourth line....that expresses so much it is almost a one-line poem in itself.
we do things to ourselves that hurt us...and we can be in denial as to how much.

thank you so much, j.
your really always get what I am trying to say
Since the wall isn't even mentioned until that second verse; it's anybody's guess what it relates to.

Even so, the grim references to physical harm in this brief poem; rang true. Particularly, for any woman; who has experienced physical abuse. Or, possibly the trauma of self-harm.

What does the wall relate to, lov..? It's certainly quite emotive, for such a brief piece.
