A Poem by lov

savior

there was never a choice.
you knew I would make things right.
that I would come
and scrape you off of this filthy floor
hold out the door.

I was some sort of savior to you.
the one who faked your
sobriety.

that your life was n`t just finishing off
more and more every day.

I was your savior.
for a glimpse of what could have been.
You made me something.
And I told you
that you can walk
and that you don`t sound stupid when you talk

that you can be saved.
I`m sorry.

Oh waw this was so deep so heartfelt , as if you've had to carry the weight of someone else. Very well written ,I loved it.

A heart rending write, Love. We can help others without supporting their addictions, but the only person who can help another is the person themselves. Most welcome, Lov. Thank you for sharing...
this was a heart-achingly beautiful confession. people with good hearts want to help others and wish they could do more. the limitations of our ability to help is a bitter truth to swallow. we can't change others, we can only watch as they make more mistakes. this sentiment was captured stunningly, and the simple language creates the feeling of helplessness. a very moving drama.

And only one can save him or herself...Someone can show us the way...but we have to take that road alone and change ourselves....we cannot fake that travel....it has to be real.
