Everything In Me

Everything In Me

A Poem by thebrokenwillow
"

A love poem.

Inspired by Sandra Cisneros

You bring out the color in me.

The kind that makes you dance barefoot in the rain

Or try to cook Italian food.

The kind that makes me put sunny yellow sheets

And lime green pillow cases on my bed

And eat only skittles for a month.

You bring out the pain in me.

Not to hurt, but to heal.

On those long languid days laying in the grass

And trying to see pictures in the clouds.

At the thought of losnig that bright smile

That warm touch.

You bring out the child in me.

When you sing loudly and off key

And tickle me until I'm breathless with laughter.

While we sit and watch Disney movies all day,

Just to prove that there are happy endings.

You bring out the addict in me.

Craving just one more whisper of your skin

Just one more secret in my ear.

Until its all I can do just to function,

As I move through my day without you.

You bring out all of me.

All of the little quirks that fill me up

Just ready to burst out and soak up some light.

And all it takes is a simple gesture, al ook from you

For another to leak out, to discover the world.
