The Feeling of Music

The Feeling of Music

A Poem by thebrokenwillow
"

This is a poem about what music does to me, when its all I can do not to explode from the emotions coursing through my veins.

"

As the notes twirl through my mind

Soothing my broken emotions

I dance throughout the empty shell of a home

Looking at everything with new eyes.

It all matches the rises and falls of the singers voice.

Everything takes on a new meaning.

Even as it stays the same.

Now the song changes, and a new voice begins.

Relaying their sorrows, their joys.

And now mine mold to fit theirs

As of by nature, I feel what they feel

And the broken plastic sword by the toy chest

Seems gallant, herioc, as the man sings of lost battles.

The dying roses on the kitchen table speak of a lost love.

And even as the song changes one more time.

Just one more time.

I realize that my soul is singing with the woman

Telling of its abuse, and it own mending.

This is the power of the music.

Even as I dance through a broken home,

Or a sunny street.

It makes people come alive.

Lovely write. I definately can relate. When I hear someone belt their emotions out to rythmic sounds, just gives me goose bumps. Especially singers that u can see their energy starting at their feet and releasing it all the way up their body til the flow comes out their lovey mouths to tell us their story. I really enjoyed this poem. keep it up.

This definitely captures the power that music has over us. I often find myself sitting on the bus listening to music and I just want to sing along and wave my arms in the air. I love it when I know music touches other people right to their souls. Well written NH
