The Ant and The BullyA Poem by Colleen C DunphyAn exaggeration of frustration. Here I am, innocently running around my little patch of earth. When here you come, not so innocently to poke and prod me, watching me stumble over the earth. Laughing at my misfortune. You prove to me how small I am, and how Big and scary the rest of the world is. I feel the burn from your magnifying glass as you pick me apart. Tear me down to the ground. No way to hide from your glare. Why do you loom over me? Why do you analyze me so closely? I'm just here-- trying to make you happy. I carry so much on my little body. But even I can only carry so much. Squashed down by the weight. Running around in circles. The earth is so small. You silently watch me, waiting for me to break.
