One Warm Day In Winter

One Warm Day In Winter

A Poem by -!katie!-
"

i think this has more metaphors and similes than all my other poems combined....

"

You are the single warm day in the middle of  the harsh Winter

You are the one sign that gives a glimpse of hope for the spring that is worth waiting for

Hesitant birds let out a confused chirp

As my confused heart releases hesitant trust

The little children on their way to school take off their gloves and hats

As I shed my layers of defense

The frost melts off the bare trees

Like all of my insecurities

The sunshine glows through my window revealing the dust on my untouched windowsill

Just as your tolerance reveals the true me

I think that this is a pretty good piece. The metaphors and similes are solid, and the images are fairly good as well. I think line two is a bit long winded, and the lack of punctuation leaves one wondering where to go with it really. Also the use of hesitant may be a little redundant. This is a fairly solid piece, and I enjoyed it.

Ooh, wow. That was beautiful.
If you really want something, try something with hot chocolate or a stray raven flying high above.

This is a lovely piece... I interpret this piece as finding a special someone... where one can shed the walls of insecurities and take down all the defensive walls one has built... and just show one's true self.
The revelation of something special as the cold winter turns into a warm spring.. the ice melts away.. and the sun begins to shine.. ever so lovely...

A special piece... and wonderful ink. :p
