pain

Sometimes I feel like

it would be easier

to live in this world of pain

than to put

all the work in

to heal

because

these scars

will always be here

no matter how much I heal

they'll never leave me

they are much farther below than any

real cut could ever go

way down deep

my soul is nearly sliced in two

it's hanging by a thread

I'm hanging by a thread

sometimes I think

maybe it would be better to stay

with this constant aching

than to heal

and deal with the sudden sharper pains

that would come along

every time I hear that song
