The horrible job of...

The horrible job of...

A Chapter by Brody Lara

The midnight moonlit sky shimmered over the glistening lake. The moon shown bright and full showering a pale light on all the trees and plants in the woods. The stars shined almost as bright as the moon. Jexie admired the quiet still night as she sat back on a nearby willow tree. She hadn't been able to for awhile since her duties called and she was forced to do her unpleasant job. She listened to the sound of little water fall splashing in the lake. There was surprisingly no disturbances and it was very calm and relaxed. Jexie felt relaxed and didn't let anything get to her. This is her spot where she came to relax or to think.

"Find the Cancer!!!" a sudden voice broke into Jexie's relaxation and made her jump up hissing, "She has to be around here somewhere!!"

At that moment Jexie sprinted the opposite way of where the voices were coming from and out of the woods. She did not stop until she came to an abandoned house. She ran in and flew down the stiarcase. She dashed down the dark black stairwell until she bumped into something.

"Oof!!! Ow!! Watch it Jexie!" Jexie looked u from where she fell to see someone with cold purple eyes with long layered purple hair who was none other than Jexie's older sister. "Man!!! I always knew you were a cluts!!" Euthyne snarled walked away with her hair whipping behind her.

"I always knew you were a b***h..." Jexi mumbled.

"What did you say you little w***e?!" Euthyne whipped back around.

"You heard me!" Jexie answered while jumping up to her feet.

Euthyne opened her mouth to speak, but a voice interupted her and Jexie's fight

.
"May I as you two to stop fighting." Jexie and Euthyne both stopped when they saw their older sister, Naris, standing and watching them. "And Jexie, what was the need to be bolting down the stairs?" Naris' beautiful golden brown eyes gazed at Jexie intently. When Jexie's head fell and she stayed silent Naris asked Jexie yet another question.

"You were up there just relaxing until you heard them looking for you then you dashed back here, correct?" Naris' dark brown flowed elegantly as she strolled over to sit in her dark velvety purple and black throne. Once again Jexie was quiet. "Jexie you know the rules are that you are only allowed up there to kill. If they ever catch you and find out you're a cancer you'll be the one killed." Jexie always had a tough time reading Naris' expressions. Her mouth was drawn up in a tiny smile that looked more like a smirk and her eyes always had the same gaze of soft yet sterness.

"Why do we need to kill them?!" Jexie complained.

"I don't see why you don't like it. I think it's a blast." Euthyne barged in.

   "That's because you're a heartless w***e" Jexie whispered.

"At least I'm not afraid to kill any of them. Unlike you wimp!" Euthyne snarled.

"That's enough! Both of you!" Naris' voice came with a hint of irratation, "It's almost two in the morning it's time for us to collect the bodies. Jexie you need to at least kill three humans." Her voice became the normal eerie calm sound.

" I don't NEED to kill any humans, I'm not starving to death." retorted Jexie.

"Please, just get the bodies, Jexie." Naris exhasperated.

Jexie finally start trudging up the stairs to once again do her nasty job
