Untouched

Untouched

A Poem by bri

My body screamed your name,

but you couldn’t hear

a thing.

Goosebumps when you touch my skin,

every inch of my body

learned to crave you

and only you.

Feelings of desperation

wash over me

as you lift your fingers from my torso.

My skin crawls

with the thought of what could have been

if you just kept going.

If you touched me again,

and again,

and again.

Is that it?

It can’t be it.

He has to want me

more than this.

nothing comes back and we have to learn to lose

Sounds as though the investment in the relationship is unequal. I think the speaker suspects it. Perhaps this is the time to bail.
