Maybe

im sitting here alone dont know where to go
i hear the footsteps of emptiness creeping up on me
theres no one to hear my cries of pain
im lost, suffering from the lonliness that found me

maybe theres hope somewhere in the shadows
maybe there is a path awaiting for me
maybe theres light in the darkness ahead
maybe theres someone to hear my cries

im heading for the open door
im walking on the path of life
light has found me through the passagways of the dark
i see him from a distance
i found my way

A nicely written poem. But I have to say that some words have to be corrected for spelling and a contraction needs an apostrophe. Nonetheless, very well-written. You can even turn this easily into a song. Very nice :)

im a bit of a stickler for grammar
'a path awaiting me'
or
'a path waiting for me'
i like the first choice, seems to roll better
keep writing, i hope its not just something youre in to for right now, only to abandon it later when another interest comes along
