carve my heart out.

carve my heart out.

A Poem by Britt Foster

i think that i might carve my heart out today,
keep my feelings locked up somewhere far, far away.
i told you i loved you, and baby, its true,
but with your indecision, what more can i do?
you lift me up with your words and your kiss;
in those perfect moments, my heart is in bliss.
then what? the winds change? because too suddenly,
you're ripping me down into deep misery.
my heart's in your hands and it's being abused,
caressing it gently then beating it bruised.
and still i cry rivers when i think of you gone;
our dusk will set in before we even see dawn.

Nicely done. The first line grabbed me from the start with its suggestive exageration. I can feel the frustration that comes with the indecive lover syndrome an in some ways identify with it. I like your use of words and the rhymes interlaced within. This is a really good one, nice job.

This perfectly explains how I used to feel at times. I know that pain that comes with the ebb and flow of indecision and the confusion at what the other person wants, but in the end, it all works out because life goes on. I really hope that you keep up the poem writing because these poems that display your true feelings, and anyone's true feelings are the best type of poems. The short but sweet reality.
