Even if we don't realize

Even if we don't realize

A Poem by isawyouinthewild

there's something eating at me, inside out.
how can i pretend this story will never end?
im choking back the urge to panic.
why do i feel like im hollowing out?

he motions towards the door,
i could tell by the fumble of his hands
and the curtain covering his eyes
it was not what i wanted.

the hand on the clock stopped.
yet the ticking echoed through my ears.
you're a story with no end.
my story of you is not neatly written,
and only i can understand the diction.

and what if it didnt matter?
you chose lifestyle over love.
but what if we could forget?

the knot still rests in my throat
waiting for the trigger.
the trigger you know you can pull,
at the luxury of your shaking hand.

im the only one who can see
it's not you youre living for.
just take what you want,
and leave the rest behind.
because it doesnt matter where you are.
you will always be braided around my wrist.

complicated feelings expressed here. things that are wrong yet right. commitment and non-commitment. things that tie two people together even when they're not...
complicated stuff. well written.
