Tiny stitches

Tiny stitches

A Poem by isawyouinthewild

please treat my truth with caution
but i know who you have to lie to,
to keep the words from falling out.
i know who you hide from.
cover your face with the sheet.
you know i know the truth.

can we keep the water still,
if i have to move once more,
i swear i'll give up.
drown and just fall.
weightless, motionless, lifeless.
to the bottom of it all.

staring back at your face,
hoping, almost praying,
but my extention cord reaches
as far as i wish it wouldn't.
because you know right where to touch,
the small of my back the curve of my shoulder.
you fall over me like wind,
but it hurts to open my eyes.

the moon hangs it head tonight,
tipped in my direction.
im no stranger to the face or reflection
he stares back it me,
"who could love you?"
"you're out of your mind"
