Haze

Haze

A Poem by mstkninnocence

A tripping heart set ablaze, by words softly uttered in an experimental haze.

Flames that are kindled and stoked with gestures unheard;

Only to be tempted to be deterred.

Confounded by illusion, fraught with fallacies;

Desperately seeking the closest thing to normality.

An open heart on the mend all to terrified to begin again.

To begin again on a note of irony

Off and on with the promise of honesty.

A loving heart bruised everytime;

Everytime the flame flickers to hide.

Waiting to scream

On the brink of falling

The slow torture hell

The burning of drowning!

A tripping heart set ablaze; by words softly uttered in an experimental haze.

'The burning of drowning'

Loved this line. It's amazing how something that may seem small and insignificant to one person can set off a fire in the heart of another. I suppose it's what makes us human. Keep up the good work, you've got a talent!
