4 in the morningA Poem by Briony Bryant
I think I want you the most at 4 in the morning,
When I'm still half asleep reaching for my sheets And the moonlight has lit my room enough That I notice the empty space beside me. I like to imagine you there, With your arms around me, My head against your chest, Our feet tangled together. And during that 4 in the morning, Still half asleep, You would reach for me And I would reach back. That morning I realized it's more than wanting you beside me, But wanting you to know all your favourite things And your flaws. I want to love you.
