DualityA Story by Brinehmwah just a little bit of my slipknot story :)
I was in the bathroom, attempting to bleach my hair. I’ve done it before when I was 13, I think I can do it again. I’m sick of having dark blue hair. It was Christmas vacation, and tomorrow night we’re leaving for California to visit Paul’s adopted parents. He was adopted, too, so he knows how I feel at times. He understands what it’s like to feel like the misfit of the family. Last time i’ve seen grandpa and grandma was two years ago, and the whole thing was a disaster. You see, everyone from Slipknot came along, so it was total chaos, I mean, the night ended with Mick flipping over the dinner table. It was funny as hell. I enjoyed it, but Paul and Brenna did not. I was applying the bleach mixture into my hair. “Whacha doing?” asked a familiar voice. Corey. “Attempting to bleach my hair. You?” I asked. “Nothing. That’s why i’m bothering you.” he said smugly. I shook my head. “So I’m gonna have to spend Christmas without you, huh?” he asked sadly. “Sadly.” I said. He sighed. “Well I’m taking Mick with me to Florida so it won’t be as bad as last time.” he said, leaning against the doorframe. “I’m gonna miss you two. Last time we went it was funny as hell.” I said. He laughed remembering. “Yeah, it was.” he agreed. “Who else is going with you?” he asked. “Uh...let’s see, Sid, Joey, and Jim.” I said, remembering the men that were coming along with me Paul and Brenna. “Nice. I told Jim to look after you.” he said. I shook my head. “I’m not a little kid.” I said. “Oh, I think I know that better than anybody babe, but you get yourself into teenage shenanigans and I cannot bare the thought of you getting yourself killed.” he said. I shook my head. “You making dinner?” I asked. “Naw.” he said. I sighed. “Don’t tell me I have to cook. I’m an actual resident in this house, you and your seven minions should at least cook for us.” I said. He groaned with disappointment. “I’ll make Sid cook if you insist that one of us cook.” he said. “Lay off Sid. He shouldn’t have to cook every night.” I said. He shook his head. “Why’re you so defensive of him?” he questioned. “Because he’s Sidlee and he’s cute and nice and he’s probably the sweetest man in this house besides my father.” I said. He rolled his eyes. “I’m cute and sweet and nice and all that s**t.” he said. I laughed. “Yeah, sure. I don’t think you’re sweet and nice.” I said. “At least you think i’m cute.” he said. I shook my head. “Aw, come over here and let me kiss you.” he said, reaching out towards me. “Okay, if you want bleach to get in your eyes and blind you.” I said. He sighed. “You’re moody today.” he said. “You too.” I said. He rolled his eyes. “Now piss off Mr. Taylor.” I said. “Fine.” he said, defeated as he turned around and left. An hour later I was finally done bleaching my hair. It was a disaster, leaving me with red hair. I went out into the living room. Chris, Shawn, and Corey were sitting on the couch. The three amigos. “Who’s cooking?” I asked, annoyed as I looked at the three lazy sloths observe extreme animals on television. “Sid.” said Corey. “So you three lazy sloths aren’t helping him at all?” I asked, angry. “Naw.” said Chris. I shook my head, then went into the kitchen. Sid was all alone searching through the fridge. “You need help?” I asked. “Hmm well it depends on what I make. So far i’m drawing a blank.” said Sid as he looked at me. “When in doubt call pizza.” I said, taking out my cellphone. “Get the usual for the three amigos.” said Sid, using my name for them. I giggled. “You heard the conversation?” I asked while dialing the Pizza Hut’s number. “Yep. God, you’re only 15 and you’re more mature than they are.” he said, sighing. I sighed. I ordered around a dozen pizzas, then shoved my phone back in my pocket. “Well thanks for calling in pizza.” said Sid. “Mm hmm. Whacha up to?” I asked, leaning on the counter, bored. “Nothing. I was thinking of consulting you for my boredom.” he said. I shook my head. “Have any ideas on what to do?” he asked. “That was my line.” I said. He laughed. “Maybe we can rent a movie or something.” said Sid. “Sounds good. I’m always in the mood for a good stabbing.” I said.
