Pretty WordsA Poem by ArriamPretty words, probably lies. This sounds very angsty. If a poem is not inspired by some truth, Something genuine and powerful, Then it is no poem at all. And it will do nothing more Then dissolve into fallen rain like dust, And wash away, insignificant, but beautiful Then tell me why- Every word that graced your lips Seemed like the truth But was nothing more than an intoxicating, thoughtless lie. Is that real poetry? Cursive laced with passion and poison, Exaggeration, cloaked in truth, cloaked in beauty? Are you heartless, Or the greatest poet that I ever knew?
