Drive, DarlingA Poem by BrianaI don’t really write poetry too often, but this was stuck in my head! Enjoy!
Drive, darling.
Away from the mess, away from the haze that is our life. We know nothing of what awaits us in the future, but I do know, that I am not sure I can wait to see it. I feel so alone, as if you don’t exist. As if I made you up? Did I? Perhaps you are but a dream, an image my imagination conjured to protect myself from the loneliness all around. I wish I knew, what to do. But for now I’ll let you down easy, I’ll let you down slow For if I do not, If I hold on, I may fall apart More than I already have. And so to say goodbye, I leave you with the thought. Were we meant to be? Or was it just... a dream? © 2017 Briana |
