Drive, Darling

Drive, Darling

A Poem by Briana
"

I don’t really write poetry too often, but this was stuck in my head! Enjoy!

"
Drive, darling.
Away from the mess, away from the haze that is our life.
We know nothing of what awaits us in the future, but I do know, that I am not sure I can wait to see it.
I feel so alone, as if you don’t exist.
As if I made you up?
Did I?
Perhaps you are but a dream, an image my imagination conjured to protect myself from the loneliness all around.
I wish I knew, what to do.
But for now I’ll let you down easy,
I’ll let you down slow
For if I do not,
If I hold on,
I may fall apart
More than I already have.
And so to say goodbye, I leave you with the thought.

Were we meant to be? Or was it
just...

a dream?
