Fatally WrongA Story by breezystory that i wrote for my english class :)On the morning of January 30th, a scream is heard throughout the hospital in New York City. There, inside Dr. Clemens’ office, was Dr. Clemens dead on the floor. There was blood everywhere. The sight was unbearable, and all the nurse could do was scream. The police showed up soon after, for a patient had heard, and called them. Though the nurse was still very shaken up about what she had seen, the police had to ask her some questions. “I’m detective Hernandez, I know you must still be very shaken, but I am going to need to ask you some questions. May I have your name miss?”Still trying to process what had happened, the nurse answered, “My name? My..my name is Victoria, Victoria Lauren. I can’t believe this is happening. How could anyone do this to Dr. Clemens?” Victoria began to cry, harder than she was before. ” That is exactly what we are trying to figure out Miss Lauren. We will find who did this, but tell me, did you see anyone suspicious?” Victoria paused, trying to remember.” Well, there was this one man, he exited through the emergency room, ran into me on his way out. I think he had a cut or something, there was blood on his cheek. Oh no, oh no, what if he was the one who did this? I could have stopped him, but instead he got away.” Detective Hernandez signaled to his team. “Miss Lauren, would you be able to give a sketch artist a description of how the man looked?” Victoria shook her head.” Yes, I think so. I’ll help in any way I can.” Detective Hernandez shook Victoria’s hand.”Thank you Miss Lauren, we’ll be in touch. I’ll get my team to get the security footage right away.” A week later, a man comes to the desk. Victoria recognizes him, and as the man goes on to ask for Dr. Clemens, she notices that this man is the same man who bumped into her the day of the murder. Victoria noticed that the man didn’t have a cut on his cheek as she thought he had though. Victoria quickly came out of the daze she was in. “I’m sorry sir, who were you asking for?” With an angry tone to his voice the man replied, “I said I was looking for Dr. Clemens. He does work here right?” Victoria still couldn’t believe that the man who could’ve possibly killed Dr. Clemens was in front of her. “Oh okay, yes, he does. Who are you may I ask?” The man rolled his eyes. “I am his father. My name is Tim Clemens. Now, I want to know where my son is!” Apologetically, Victoria said, “Sir, I am very sorry to tell you this, but your son was killed last week. I can’t imagine how hard this must be for you to hear.” Victoria excused herself, and called Detective Hernandez to let him know that the man was there. Detective Hernandez arrived in minutes. “Tim? Tim Clemens? I am very sorry for your loss, were you two close?” Tim did a quick smirk, and then said, “Close? Hah, I don’t think so, far from that. I mean, I can’t believe someone would come in here and murder him like that.” Detective Hernandez started to get more suspicious about Mr. Clemens. “Sir, Mr. Clemens, what do you mean when you say you were far from being close with your son?” The man became furious. “What I mean is that the wonderful Dr. Clemens was nothing but a trader to his family! He just left us, his own family! I came home one night, and all there was, was a letter from him saying he left. Then he goes off and becomes a doctor, so now he’s great. It’s completely ridiculous!” Detective Hernandez now had a reason to why Mr. Clemens could possibly want his son dead. “Well Mr. Clemens, I can see how you could be mad, possibly even mad enough to kill him yourself.” Mr. Clemens’s eyes widened. “What?! So now I’m a murderer? Let me tell you something, yes, I was mad at my son, but I would never kill him. Was he a trader? Yes. Did he betray his family? Yes, but I certainly did not kill my son!?” “Mr. Clemens, we have you on camera coming out of the hospital around the time of the murder. We also have a witness that saw you and said you had blood on your cheek. So tell me, what really happened? Right now, with you being at the hospital around the time of the murder, and then coming out of the hospital with blood on you, it isn’t making you look to good.” Mr. Clemens shook his head. “Okay, okay. Look, I went to his office, and he was already dead when I got there. I got nervous, and I left. I knew that if I called the cops, that people would think I was guilty.” Mr. Clemens began to sweat. “Well Mr. Clemens, you might have gotten a different result if you would have called. Your story just doesn’t check out. Mr. Clemens, you are under arrest.” A month later, it is time to go to court for the trial of Dr. Clemens murder. Everyone was already inside the court room, except for Mr. Tim Clemens. Just as an officer was about to go and look for Mr. Clemens, the sound of a gun shot rang through the court room. Everybody rushed into the lobby, only to see Mr. Clemens on the floor in a pool of his own blood. In his hand, was a note. The note read, “You arrested the wrong man. You still haven’t caught me, and probably never will. Better luck next time…” © 2011 breezy |
