my mind is racing

my mind is racing

A Poem by brigid

my mind is racing......25.5.2012

my mind is racing

with empty thoughts.

sleep eludes me,

yet waking is fraught.

my body wraps

its skin and bones

around my distant lover

and wracks its emotions,

twisted and tormented,

around itself.

First of all, take a deep breath. Just reading the title suggested that my pulse should elevate.

I have felt such emotions, such as the bags under my eyes will validate. But those days are just distant memories, figurative and literal. Hope things workout so the torment turns into an energy that's more beneficial to you.

BTW, I really like your avatar. The Lady of Shalott is one of my favorite paintings by John William Waterhouse.

i'm touched by the torment in this poem, and wonder how far and why the lover is distant
