Missing Person

Missing Person

- something stupid, because I could not write anything else

Hello Officer.  I’d like to file a missing persons report please.

Alright .  How long has the person been missing?

A few months, I think.

You think?

Yes. I’m really not sure.  You see, I thought that I was just ignoring her but when I looked for her last night, she wasn’t there.

You thought you just ignored her for a few months?

Yes, exactly.

But you looked for her last night and she wasn’t there?

Yes. That’s how I knew she was missing.

Alright. What was she wearing?

Purple I believe. Yes I’m pretty sure she was purple the last time I saw her.

Okay. She was wearing purple. Purple what? Pants? Dress? Pajamas?

Now that I think about it, she might have been blue.

Blue? You mean depressed? You think she might have hurt herself?

No. Blue. Like the color. Blue instead of purple.

Okay. Blue or purple. Well? Blue or purple what?

Dress. She is always in a dress. Sometimes long, sometimes short.

Blue or purple dress. Do you remember if this one was long or short?

No. I think the trend has been towards long lately though. Ankle length.

Wearing blue or purple ankle length dress.  Eye color?

Varies. I’m not sure what it was the last time I saw her.

Hazel eyes. Would that be blue/gray, blue/green or brown/green?

Yes.

Yes?

Yes. All of the above.

Height?

Um…around 4 or 5 inches I think.

4 to 5 feet tall.  Is this a child?

No. She only acts like one sometimes.

Has she gone missing before?

Oh yes. She is always going missing.

And where did you find her then?

I didn’t find her. She just came back.

So you think she ran away?

It’s possible. Or she is just hiding.

Alright. Anything unique about her appearance?

She is always smirking.

Smirking?

Yes. She almost always has a smirk on her face.

Hair color?

Black.

Okay. Let me go over this. 4 to 5 feet tall, black hair, hazel eyes, last seen about 2 months ago wearing either a purple or blue ankle length dress. Possible runaway.  Is that about right?

You forgot the smirk.

Alright. Probably smirking. Anything else?

It’s 4 to 5 inches.

Inches?

Yes. Inches not feet.

Is this a person?

Sort of.

Sort of? This isn’t a game you know.

Yes I know. It isn’t a game to me either.

Is this a person at all miss?

I already told you. Sort of.

Do you mind expanding on that some?

It’s my muse. My damned smirking muse is missing again

This made me giggle. I know the feeling. I've been here for months ... wondering where my muse has gone.

Mine wears a night sky with brilliantly bright stars for her clothing and trails beautiful golden hair that sometimes shines with rainbow light. :-)

This is a great piece and really shows the frustration of missing your muse and no one else understanding how it feels to be a wordless writer.

I know that feeling, for sure!

A very whimsical way of expressing this. But clearly your muse is still amusing you!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so clever and talented, I loved this. BIG SMILES. Sometimes if you ignore your muse, they will appear. They hate to be ignored, so they will make an appearance, just to let you know they are still around.

HILARIOUS. Your muse. Absolutely brilliant. "you forgot the smirk".... priceless comedic style of yours that always keeps me coming back for more. You are hysterical... and if she does ever show up could you ask her if she's seen mine anywhere? Great write!!
