Wrapped Up With A Bow

Wrapped Up With A Bow

A Poem by BrightEyes
"

- I really need to start sleeping more

"

it sat upon the table

all wrapped up with a bow

awaiting me to open it

and let it overflow

walking by the box there

each and every day

ignoring it completely

along with all it had to say

in all its quiet splendor

the pull becomes so strong

beginning now to wonder

I know it won’t be long

I’ll untie the pretty ribbon

lift the lid with care

unleashing all those demons

so carefully hidden there

Never judge a book by its cover. Very good. Except this time its a package by its decorations. Very god. I liked it! Keep it up!

P.S Could you do me a favour and read the prologue on my book please. I want to see if I can get other people hooked like me. Please. Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

I'm trying to ignore this box that is sitting there ... I'm afraid of what will come out when it's open.

I like this piece, it's a simplistic format, but you say so many profound things. Brilliant as always.

I have to say that I enjoyed the twist of this piece. It offers a certain insanity that can usually only be found in that insomnia-maniacal land known as sleep deprivation. It reads like a jack-in-the-box, going along with a flow that is almost musical; before - BAM - IN YER FACE - DEMONS, BABY!

Okay, maybe that was a tad on the overzealous side, but c'mon - that rocked so hard core - it was completely stragith edge in the way that you lured us lazily down that happy path of "ooooh, present! me likey-wikey present! gimme! gimme!" only to turn it on us and unleash the foul bowels of your own personal HELL!

Yeah, you could say I like twisting twisty twisted things.... :)

I agree with Blackbirdsong about it sounding like Pandora's Box. You captured the mystery and curiosity really well.

WOW. Love the precious ending. Man o man, this is absolutely great. It's a cool little trip wandering around the package with you.... and then to unleash the demons??? .... ahhhh... you're starting to remind me of me! lol OH... in the GOOD way, hehe.

an amazing write. . . I'd probably be tempted to put the box in the freezer or something. :-)

I like this...quite an interesting take on Pandora's box...I know firsthand about how it feels open a box like that...you have to face those ugly demons and then thankfully at the bottom are all the blessings just waiting to follow...thank God LOL
