One

A Poem by Bright Eyes

I stare at your lips as they move
I'm in love with you
I gaze into your eyes as they tell me
I'll never leave you

Our souls become one as you hold my hand
Fingers intertwined, you'll understand

Religion told me not to
          feel this way
          act this way
          talk this way
          touch this way
but the father of prayer knows not how I feel.

I think the father of prayer may know how you feel, this is beautiful in its simplicity, it has a lovely flow.

I admire it's simplicity, can relate to it's message. It is one of the best poems I have read lately. Very nice!

Well I also seek for the elaborate rhyme, can't find it.
It is positive and it is wishful, it is wanting and sure getting,
very simple, wonderful rhyme.
