Stinging Words

Stinging Words

A Poem by Bright Eyes

Ouch.  The words you whisper in my ear sting
They sting my ears and they make my head ring

Ring and scream with desperate confusion
Not knowing my life is all an illusion

I scream and I shout and I thrash all about
And you calm me many times, to many to count

And you whisper those things in my ear
But then I thrash all about; I can't hear
