Pain from the past

There is this painful past that makes me afraid to give my heart to someone again.

Once there was this lovely woman
so special, an apple to my eyes
To her I gave my heart in full
and committed to love her forevermore

My best days is when shes here
by my side, her head on my shoulders
Those were the days i didn't want to end
and ending this love never entered my head

There's this obstacle that came our way
we had to be seas and mountains away
i thought she can yet fell into arms of another man
and it broke my heart into pieces of sand

Time had passed and the wounds were healed
yet empty spaces still needs to be filled
Not minding the spaces and continued my day
suddenly you came across this lonely way

I didn't know what to say nor do
all I know is there's something in you
something special that brought light
and brought back that color so bright

and now that you're here in my way
I'm afraid to loose you like my yesterday
i know you'll fit in the empty space inside
yet my mind tells me to set you aside

it think this heart is not yet ready
to give away love to somebody
for the past had caused much pain
and I'm afraid to feel that pain again
