Pain

A frown is but a smile in disguise;

A tear is but a drop in your eyes,

but pain is real.

A star is but a light in the skies,

perceived as a dot in your eyes,

but pain you can feel.

Lingering behind everything you know,

you wonder: When will it next show?

Today? Tomorrow?

Probably so.
