Menace

Menace

A Poem by Bridget Murphy

The City fell.
No life, no love.
Bricks like fire,
Rained to the sky.
In the Center,
There I stood.
No life, no love.

She was crying,
Begging to leave,
But I kept my ground,
As the City streets,
Went tumbling down.

There I stand,
While nomads,
And desert thieves,
Cross my City land.
They say I am a ghost,
They call me a phantom.
But they are fools.
Souls are for ghouls,
And I am merely, Menace.

Powerful and good words.
"But they are fools.
Souls are for ghouls,
And I am merely, Menace."
The above lines could be extended. You create mystery and dangerous character. I enjoyed the short poetry. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
