My Own Personal Contradiction

My Own Personal Contradiction

A Poem by Joe
"

Like night and day...

"
Ocean waves and shooting stars

Crash into my life like a speeding car

Taken by surprise

I find that I am hypnotized

You smile politely in my direction

I have to ask if you share the same amount of affection

But my cowardly words are restrained

And I can't help but invite all the pain

I speak like a gentleman as my thoughts stray

My dreams just carry me further away

Where my dreams reside is another world

A place for relaxation with my desired girl

But as I wander off to the unknown

My mind tells me that I'm alone

And once again I feel like I am in solitude

If only you would express the deepest gratitude

You know I exist and you know I cannot resist

So what boundary lies between

That keeps me away from you when you are all I need

An invisible force that runs a long course

I don't want to wait for never

I don't want to have ties to sever

Don't make me say please

Because my delicate words have now ceased

The ending is harsh to the girl, don't you think? Just teasing. I like how you say we come into life like a speeding car. Life is like that, it's a good...anology? Yes, anology. Your poems are nice. :]
