The Final Test

The Final Test

A Poem by Warrrior Poet
"

simply a dream

"

I fell into what I could not find.

Never knowing I may be blind.

It was in a dream I found my way.

In the night, or was it the day?

Moving down this hallway narrow in size.

Dark and shallow, yet a far off light begins to rise.

This light was all that I can see.

Pulling the chains, with a thought to be free.

It was then I came across a hidden door.

A feeling to open it, nothing I wanted more.

So I may reach the prize of golden-light.

What could have been so bright?

That was hidden behind this secret door.

Was this something I've seen before?

Frozen inside like the earth without its core.

No longer moving as if part of the floor.

Missing the link to this thing so strange,

could this be something I could have changed.

The pain in my heart crumbles with a lie.

That I grabbed my chest with a tear in my eye.

With a single thought, did I do my best?

Could this have been the final test?

It was never something I was supposed to be,

wandering what was to become of me.

To realize what I see is within a nights dream,

realizing what I am is nothing but a dream.

Lost I turn away from the door of golden-light.

(Everyone else had such a colorful sight.)

It was always something alone I could bare.

To forget about that life, for I no longer care.
