Magic Carpet

Magic Carpet

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I wanna be your magic carpet,

I wanna fly you to the moon.

I know it’s hard to believe,

but imagine life as a cartoon.

Take my hand and we’ll be off,

like a rocket into outer space.

And if you still have your doubts,

slow and steady won the race.

And there is nothing I wouldn’t do

to make your dreams come to life.

I’d fly a kite to all the stars above,

so that I’d be able to see you tonight.

Anything is possible when we’re alive.

And when we’re dead, much is left unsaid.

All the trees will wave us goodbye,

and all the stars will tuck us in at night.

So, let me take you on an adventure,

I’ll fly you anywhere you wanna go.

There is so much out there we can see,

all you gotta to do is let me know.
