Happily Ever After, After All.

Happily Ever After, After All.

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I found a castle way up high

as I swam across a moonlit sky.

I pushed through the rainy days,

and found myself above the waves.

I looked down and saw the ground.

And it was spinning round and round.

It was a magnificent sight to see,

almost as if it were a cosmic dream.

I landed myself atop the castle wall,

in hopes that it may never fall.

Though the castle was quite empty,

I found a mirror and saw an enemy.

My foe ran and ran until he was gone,

but he was not gone for too, too long.

I saw another mirror, and then found him.

I ran to the beast, going out on a limb.

Close enough, I was, I shattered the mirror,

and then the thought became much clearer.

The enemy of the castle way up high

was none other than the creature inside.

The ugliness that was hidden away,

decided one day to come out and play.

And I shattered my fears, I killed them all.

I destroyed the mirror, mirror on the wall.

And I lived happily ever after, after all.

Gee
Mirror, mirror....when I look back at my younger self I cringe at some of the things I did, the way I sometimes acted. I liked this, the rhyme, easy flow and content.
