As I Sit By Rippling Waters

As I Sit By Rippling Waters

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I think of a many things,

as I sit besides rippling waters;

the way the world sees

the colorfulness of the evergreens,

and the busyness of honey bees.

And the sweet, sweet melody

of the lovely chickadees,

who soar ever so freely,

which allows my heart to flutter,

and fly; like a delicate butterfly.

A lot can be thought of whilst

sitting by rippling waters.

As such the winds may pick up

and carry me far, far away,

though I shall miss its beauty;

the world that I’ve come to adore.

And perhaps one day I may just

find myself upon the shores

of the rippling waters,

and at last I shall be able to

sit by them once more.
