A Paper Airplane

A Paper Airplane

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I flew a paper airplane

into the skyline

of outer space,

and watched it find its place

inside my mind.

The great thing about

paper airplanes

is that as they unfold,

a kind of magic is told,

even as it rains.

And even so,

it can mold

into anything,

anything you

choose!

Whether it be

a pirate ship,

or a willow tree;

a clock on the wall,

or a honey bee.

I can see that you

have become

a paper airplane,

as well.

Or, at least,

something of the

same.

And whatever

you may be,

whether a poet,

or a friend,

a storyteller who

knows no end,

I will fly this plane

until it no longer can.

And I will be anything,

anything I so choose,

which may include

a paper airplane,

that is just for you.
