I liked the thoughts and the journey you took me with. A seed or a ark. Both worthwhile actions. Thank you Brian for sharing the excellent poetry.

Beautiful, sad and oh so truthful pilgrimage of that seed. Its hard to take roots when all of the trees have already taken all of the space. For some reason i could hear this song in my head while reading this: Clams Casino - Numb
I guess one finds within all forms of salvation
To seek outside help is a fickle effort of building strength within by using something external
An effort that grows futile
Alot of wisdom sits in your words
Brian, A whole lot of interesting elements to this write. You start by planting a seed on a mountain top, which as it grows flows toward the sea, much like lava...which comes out of a mountain top. You then build an ark on top of said mountain...and it is said that the remains of Noah's Ark was found on top of a mountain. Seeds and arks both yield life but the seedling takes longer than the delivery speed of all those animals on the Ark were dispatched. You conclude by stating that the seed was deemed not a need. Twists, turns...very nicely woven tale! take care...dan

Thank you for your review. Some times your interpretations are better than my own, actually. I will say, though, that I wrote the sky as a "floating sea" since it the sky and sea are mirror opposites. So, when the seed grows, it grows higher and higher in hopes of reaching the sky, and possibly even beyond. But then it doesn't grow. So, I wrote about how all those things that usually take to the sky end up not able to, and I'm stuck here on Earth, so I build an ark in order to save my sanity (of remaining grounded because of the seed not growing), from reality (which I related to as floods, since reality always floods one's dreams, it seems). So, I insisted on just building an ark the next time, in order to prevent myself from further disappointment of not being able to fly away from reality, and rather instead, survive the floods and begin anew. A mountain top is the highest point on the planet, hence why I used that. It's closest to the sky, yet still grounded, so it's the closest means to feeling like I'm escaping the floods of reality, by reaching a point that's higher to it. So, since the seed never grew, next time I figured build the ark first so that I may not have to wait for the seed to grow and spend all that time waiting. Because the only way the seed could have grown is by being watered. So, the seed trying to grow in order to escape the floods, in reality, would not grow because the waters never touched it.

If I explained what each poem was about, there wouldn't be any magic left to the mystery of how the poem had come to be. It's all in one's imagination, the interpretation. This, I just decided because you interpreted one way, I wanted to interpret the poem my own way. It's odd how one doesn't think of what he/she is writing until it's done. Words are like puzzle pieces that only one's heart can piece together. I write poetry, but don't come up with a reason for writing until AFTER, so I suppose I am in the same boat as you, interpreting the poem my own way, even though I wrote it. Haha. Thank you for reviewing and replying to my comment. Take care, as well! - Brian
