The Lost & Found

The Lost & Found

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I sit in what I call,

the lost & found,

because I am lost,

and none have yet to

find me.

It isn’t too hard to look,

I am somewhat like

a fish on a hook.

All you have to do is

reel me in,

just like reading a

really good book;

but I’ve yet to be so lucky,

as I am trapped like a rook

in a game of chess.

All the pawn has to do

is move so that I may do so too,

though, it won’t happen,

it never does.

See, all that there is between us,

is the space between

me & you.

Though all is said and done,

I’ve yet to be found

by anyone.

And I have to wonder,

does anyone know…

that I am sitting here,

trapped in the

Lost & Found?
