Starry Galaxy

Starry Galaxy

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I grew up in a forest

where all things were alive,

including the birds,

and the countless humans,

who’ve said harsh words

that had made me cry,

which would stir a sadness,

and bring upon madness,

to where my sanity

was replaced with insanity,

though I was always still

happy.

And now, gone from there,

I am free from pain,

eluding misery’s bane,

and finding myself within

a happier place,

somewhere out there

in outer space.

And I have no regrets,

save to let my worries die,

as I have no longer a need

to cry, as you may see me,

way up there in the

starry galaxy.

Very nice scale. I really like the freedom of this piece.

A very simplified write here, Brian.
It seems like you are going through an astronomy phase at present!
The Idea of something that once lived in the forest now living beyond the earth has an ethereal quality to it.
Peace has come to this person who once dwelled in madness on the earth below.
Another original piece of writing.
Very nicely done.
