Snowglobe

Snowglobe

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I live inside a snowglobe,

trapped and confined

to this eerie conformity,

that I can often say

I do mind,

My bones tend to break,

every time the world shakes.

Tearing apart my humanity,

and replacing it

with horrid insanity.

I am thrown around

and around and around,

and even upside down.

Yet, I still haven’t found

any such ground.

I am spinning,

forced to fly on land,

and swim in the sky

As I walk upon the sea,

accepting this

lie, this reality.

My words may flow

upon this world,

my truest home.

But I still live,

alone... inside this,

snowglobe.

A sad place to be. Locked in a snow globe, watching the world inside a prison of a snow globe. I like the internal thoughts leading to the strong ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Brian, The concepts that you are coming up with to write about? Truly inspired, the products of a fertile literary mind. Living in a snowglobe? I'll be honest with you...when I started reading it I felt a bit of trepidation, a little ".......what?????" But you adroitly pulled it off and made it your own, following the concept through with mature and concise wordplay and soft-spoken degrees of emotion. Outstanding! take care...dan
