I Hope You Keep It

I Hope You Keep It

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

I sit alone, sheltered

within a world of mystery,

of endless imagination

Breathing heavily,

lying deep within history

page after page

But something called,

waking me up inside,

that is, a simple lie

A world, a false life

that which seems real

but is, in fact, not

It is called Reality,

though it is also

quite imaginary

Pretending to be,

yet it is something

that is only make believe

Yes, perhaps a false world,

or a hidden secret,

for the lonely, beautiful girl

I hope you keep it…
