If I Could

If I Could

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

If I could fly,

I would discover,

what it’s like

to be free…

If I was blind,

I would discover,

what it’s like

to see…

If I could cry,

I would discover,

what it’s like

to be happy…

If I could sigh,

I would discover,

what it’s like

to breathe…

And that is all,

all that I need

the day I am born

and the day that I bleed,

It is the journey,

the endless adventure,

towards my goal, my final dream…

that I truly seek…

Some profound thoughts throughout this one Brian - the journey is the goal in a way
It reminded me of a quote (paraphrasing here from memory of a goldfish) 'Life...is what happens when we busy making plans' (see below)
A real 'thought-pot' stirrer here.

*Allen Saunders: Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.
