My Final SleepA Poem by Brian M. PeeplesMany days I wonder what it’s like over yonder, on the other side… A side that is not yet known but still, many call it home at the end of their life… I sometimes wonder… what it’s like leave this place and enter my own space… A space that is nobody’s home, none except my own… where I can live at my own pace I sometimes feel… as though my time is up, when emptiness fills the cup… Is that not enough? The pain, the agony …which you can never see… Is it so difficult to breathe? Sometimes the tough Lie down and sleep… Forever, they rest… awake only in memory yet, to never be woken again... …Is this the end, my final sleep?
