Well, it turns out that I was having a grumpy morning; but once I started to read this, I felt some relief. It's true that artists suffer, but in some ways there's nothing more stoic than an artist. These things are heavy burdens in life: expectation, aspiration, and the endless and often fruitless quest for inspiration; but how often do we hear the lamentation of the artists? Rarely, because they internalize it.
Kudos on your sympathetic and cathartic poem, Mr. Peeples; I enjoyed it greatly and encourage you to create more.

I will write more, as it is a poet's passion to write beautiful poetry. A beautiful poem represents a beautiful, true heart. A heart is beautiful for its scars as it still thrives while have been pained to a tremendous extent. I know that I suffer, as an artist, due to not feeling as if I belong, or fit in with today's society. But, on the other hand, I'd rather not fit into today's world than give up my passion in order to become the same as everyone else. We are all different, in some way, and we should embrace our differences and cherish our ability to be unique. As there are over seven billion people in this world, there is only one of each person. That makes each and every single human being special, as the same goes for every other living soul on this planet throughout the entire universe.
I am a twenty-three year old writer & poet. My passion for writing comes from all over. I love to write, and I love to inspire others. Hopefully when I'm gone one day, I'll leave behind all my writin.. more..
