This is a very true poem, why is it always "that a poet's beautiful heart/ Is always in utter pain"? Turning sorrows elegantly into art, that is what we are all doing here on WC. Nice job well done xxx
I quiet enjoyed this piece very much Michael, most of what u said I find myself doing on daily bases. Most of what I write comes from a place in my heart in some kind of form of an envelope of emotion, whether that is one emotion or a thousand. Thank u for sharing.
"But it is not the poet’s choice
As he takes on this risky endeavor
Creating such beauty, pure elegance" - I concur Michael - no one would choose this - it chooses us.
I think you nailed the true definition and aura of a poet in this one. It is extremely common that writers and artists alike have a deep sadness inside of them, and you brought awareness to that fact in a wonderful poem.

And it is because I am a poet, and I feel this way, that it has allowed me to write a poem like this one. I always write my poetry from the heart, and I wished to give both others, who aren't poets, and poets alike, the truth behind poetry, and a poet's pain. Not enough artists state their pain, rather they create art with it. I simply decided to state my pain in the form of my art. Best of both worlds, I suppose. Haha.
I am a twenty-three year old writer & poet. My passion for writing comes from all over. I love to write, and I love to inspire others. Hopefully when I'm gone one day, I'll leave behind all my writin.. more..
