As I read this Brian I was reminded of a story from my childhood - the story of 'The Little Matchgirl' by Hans Christian Anderson and that was a delight for me. Thank you.
The subject died for me in this and was reunited in Heaven with their one true love (the soul reborn in God) and the final line - like the closing of a favourite book, was superbly, warmly, familiar.
Thanks for sharing
I was typing a rather lengthy review and my bloody mobile erased it all! Oh, well. This piece was exquisite and spoke to me very personally, because it is a feeling that I wonder about and long for. I read and reread your second to last stanza multiple times; it was absolutely lovely. Thank you for sharing your beautiful poetry... And what it feels like to finally be warmed up.

Originally, this poem was going to be called, "I Am" and it was going to be a "twin poem," but then I began to write this one and it came out differently, so I went along with the story and called it, "A Beautiful Night." Now you know the history behind this poem, haha! Thanks for the review!

When I've tried, in the past, to write a specific way, my stories and poetry turned out less than the ones I put my heart and soul into. My poems on here who have pretty much zero reviews and not much feedback or positive comments, those were ones that were most likely forced. The ones like this, that receive a lot of positive feedback, these ones I didn't have the heart to force, nor did I want to. Coming from the heart, these poems are better than the ones that were forced.

Realy Beautiful. It sets a scene in the cold night and moves towards the bright of day that only love can bring.

I love winter because of its beauty, but also because of all the mixed emotions it brings into a person's life. Spring tends to bring a new beginning, Summer tends to bring those hot, warm days where you either want to go out and do something or sit back and relax all day, Autumn brings the need and want to go for walks along roads with colorful leaves falling from trees, and making a scene of beauty to marvel each year, and Winter simply connects all of the emotions felt throughout all the seasons. The beauty, the journey through life, the death and preparations for the rebirth of all life, which comes in Spring, and pretty much the renewal of life. It truly and simply is a wonderful time of year.
Beautiful..... 'glimmer of hope' heart touching words. Keep up the good work.
