Tears of the Womxn

As I wipe away the crusty tears from my eyes
Yawning large and wide
I look up to see every womxn in my world
Has silent tears falling gently down her face
Distance sits far back in her eyes
Fear furrows her brow
She walks around doing what needs to be done
Confidence bellows in each stride
Wide hips, hips that carry the future, sway
Sturdy arms holding the world while it hurts
Built of resilience and wild spirit she harnesses the pain
Modeling the reality she possesses
As the backbone of humanity
Because that's what she does
She gets s**t done
But terror is the only thing keeping her heart from breaking
And hope, although only mere threads of it left
Bind the tender broken pieces to forge strength like no one could imagine
They build her movements and the movements of the people
As She organizes coffee accessories
Her eyes build bridges of togetherness
With each step her fierceness sets the tone of what is to come
Her feet grow roots to remind us of the connection to the earth
The tears she never whisks away prove the power of hope
And the grace of rage
Her thick body holds the history of queer, fat, femmes before her
Ones that glided through the world
Her dreams building community
Inspiring Revolution by her presence
