Fruit of the Vine

Fruit of the Vine

A Poem by The Tao of Bri
"

Prayer in an insomnia haze~

"

                               Fruit of the Vine..

                     ..

Oh Lord i am an empty receptive ignorant

humble fool of an old cobalt blue goblet

waiting for your guidance and will that

i clear my mind so i may be filled

by Your love light understanding

that i have cracked faulted sins

pride and doubt hindering

the gifts that You have

deemed

to

bless mwith

this

life

may i

use

them

to honor You

by living up to Your

expectations of me drinking

the fruit of the vine that pours over spilling into my every pore taking away my sins healing my wounds that i may persevere on to learn more lessons that i forget in my human weakness may i remember ever quicker in this Peace You grant me may i endeavor to share with others in Your Most Holy Name by Your grace now and forever in Your care Amen

This feels a really touching read. Whether this is because of the layout of the wording or just the impact of the message, I'm not sure, but it's affecting. I like the idea of the wine dripping over the side of the glass - great idea.

This is really ... the typesetting the flow, all come together really beautifully . A perfect piece.
Don't extend, it edit it or even change the typeface

The format is immediately eye catching. I can see that the prayer came natural and flows without hesitation.

Nice prayer. Perhaps I need to get down on my knees more often and pray. I love seeing you write a spiritual poem. Way to go!

It's been a while since I've seen any Concrete poems on site and this is an especially good one. Not only do you give us the image of the glass or goblet as a reference point, but then your writing, which is like a prayer throughout gives the image depth and visa versa. Well done and I'm wondering how long it took you to format this...so bravo for that too :)

Love the creativity of this piece with that awesome shape and color. Very touching as well.

I'm an atheist...but this is a pretty apt prayer, and I imagine a lot of people can relate to it.
I like how fast-paced it seems, like when we babble aloud in desperation.
Humble and articulate...what a great combination.
Good write. Thanks for sharing it with us.

If this is what you create in a haze, I'd like to see what comes out when all the piston's are firing. This is really good. Thanks
