"St Teresa D'avila"

"St Teresa D'avila"

A poem inspired by the new movie "Teresa, el cuerpo de Cristo (2007)" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458500/

"St  Teresa d'avila"

In

the

 hands of

 God,

where men

do fear

that the devil

has

more power

over

 their ignorance

than God's Grace for them.

What simpletons

and heretics

dressed in pious vestments

think thus,

that they murmur their prayers

of God's Holy Omnipotence

but cannot see His Divine caress

in everyday life?

For Faith has no limits

and His hand no emptiness

when we put ourselves fully into

His Sacred care.

The evil is all around us

to be sure,

but only at God's Will

can the darkness touch us,

to test us…

and God's Will

allows us to choose.

So build your political pyres

and burn the Innocence,

that they may be

closer to

God's Divine Light…

They will eventually

be proved martyrs

and venerated

while

the

world

forgets

evil's name.

"God gave us faculties for our use; each of them will receive its proper reward. Then do not let us try to charm them to sleep, but permit them to do their work until divinely called to something higher."

"I do not fear Satan half so much as I fear those who fear him."

Very incouraging to know that some are aware of the power of faith. With words like yours ,others can learn more about themselves. The message is put together well and is easy to follow.Thank you .

Very nicely done. Well thought out and constructed. Haven't seen the movie, but it sounds interesting.

Bring it on! Your poem goes deeper than the movie and hits the very core of the soul. You tenderly, firmly, and uniquely point to the light for those who choose to bask in the sunshine. Your words here are like a beautiful song to me, "For Faith has no limits and His hand no emptiness when we put ourselves fully into His Sacred care. This is a truly divine write!

A bit heavy on the fire and brimstone for my tastes, but extremely well written. Lydia
