Let Peace Reign

Let Peace Reign

A Poem by writingforfun
"

A poem as a my response to recent world events, especially Paris.

"

Let Peace Reign.

Is there no end to this madness

Bringing sorrow and pain and sadness ?

Aren’t humans willing or able

To  bring sanity and peace to the table?

Hatred breeds hatred in human hearts

In the dark recesses where evil starts.

Pointless misery fuelled by sin

In a pointless war no one can win.

We mourn, we weep, we cry aloud,

Peace illusive ,  veiled in a cloud.

Now it’s time to lift the veil

Since  all other efforts fail.

With so many people dead,

Let the love of Jesus reign instead.

And so my hope, my dream, my prayer

Is for a world that we can share,

Where our neighbour is our brother,

Joining hearts with one another.
