Ode to Cliches

Ode to Cliches

A Poem by writingforfun
"

short piece about our daily overuse of cliches

"

An ode to clichés

At the end of the day, in the final analysis

So many clichés sound ghastly.

When all is said and done, to put it in a nutshell,

Why use so many words,

When one will do instead,

Lastly.

Listening to politicians, football commentators ( and myself!) I've become more and more aware of how we use clichés so much. Lazy? Unavoidable? sometimes perhaps...
'It remains to be see' :)

I'm all for cliches, I admit. but that's probably because I'm not a native speaker.
nice to find someone writing for fun here. there are so many serious writers/poets.
